Eine Spende über 150.000 Euro übergab am 3. Juli 2017 Dr. Michael Grund, Geschäftsführer der Firma Merck Korea an Moritz Winkler, Vorstandsvorsitzender und Ludwig Feuchtmeyer, Schatzmeister der Deutschen Schule Seoul International. „Wir bedanken uns herzlich bei der Firma Merck für die grosszügige Spende. Die DSSI freut sich, einen wichtigen Vertreter der deutschen Wirtschaft in Korea als starken Partner der DSSI gewonnen zu haben“ sagt Herr Winkler. Geplant ist, die Spende in eine neu zu errichtende Stiftung einzubringen, welche die DSSI nachhaltig fördern und entwickeln soll. Mittels der Stiftung sollen verschiedene Projekte finanziert werden, wie etwa die Renovierung der Turnhalle oder die Neuausstattung der naturwissenschaftlichen Räume. Zugleich soll die Stiftung als Grundlage für die langfristige Schulentwicklung fungieren, um mit der DSSI als Aushängeschild in Korea für den Bildungsstandort Deutschland zu werben.
A donation in the amount of 150,000 Euros was delivered by Dr. Michael Grund, Managing Director of Merck Korea, to Moritz Winkler, Chairman of the Board of Directors of German School Seoul International (DSSI), and Ludwig Feuchtmeyer, Treasurer of DSSI. „We are very thankful for Merck’s generous donation. DSSI is very glad to win an important representative of the German companies in Korea as a strong partner.“, Mr. Winkler says. It is planned to allocate the donation towards a soon-to-be-established foundation in order to support DSSI in a sustainable manner. With the help of the foundation various projects will be supported financially, such as the renovation of the gymnastics room or the science rooms. At the same time the foundation will serve as a foundation for a long-term development of the school towards a figurehead in Korea with the purpose of promoting Germany as an excellent location for education.
지난 7월 3일, 미하엘 그룬드 (Michael Grund) 한국머크 (Merck Korea) 대표, 모리츠 빙클러 (Moritz Winkler) 독일 학교 대표 그리고, 루드비히 포이트마이어 (Ludwig Feuchtmeyer) 독일 학교 재정관리자 세 분의 미팅을 통해, 머크에서 15만 유로를 서울 독일 학교에 기부했습니다. 빙클러 씨는“학교를 대표하여 머크의 기부에 깊이 감사드리며, 독일과 한국 산업을 리드하고 있는 머크에서 후원을 결정해주어 기쁘다.“라고 밝혔습니다.
기부금은 독일 학교를 지원할 재단에 전달될 계획이며, 곧 마련될 재단을 통해 독일학교를 위한 다양한 프로젝트를 지원할 예정입니다. 이 재단은 독일 학교가 한국을 대표하는 독일 교육 중심지로 자리 잡을 수 있는 발판을 마련할 것입니다.
